BAHRAIN ELECTIONS
My career in Bahrain really began in early 2018, when I led media production and devised political strategy for the 17-candidate Sharaka bloc during the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry elections.
Over three months, we campaigned across the Kingdom, built rapport with a varied voter base and navigated our fair share of political intrigue.
A significant part of my work was pioneering the use of direct-to-camera, voter-facing videos, distributed extensively across broadcast and social media. Each candidate spoke directly to voters, introducing themselves, explaining what they stood for and making their case for election.
The campaign was instrumental in establishing my professional reputation in the Kingdom. It opened doors, gave me an enormous head start in the local market and, above all, led to lasting professional relationships, with several candidates continuing to return as trusted clients.
One of those candidates was Ahmed Sabah Al Saloom, who hired me in a similar capacity for his successful parliamentary campaigns in 2018 and 2022, securing consecutive seats in Bahrain’s Council of Representatives.
BRITISH EMBASSY
My earliest collaborations with the British Embassy date back to my time at Bahrain This Month. Starting in 2021, I directed several interviews with H.E. RODERICK DRUMMOND, including his final interview in Bahrain. I personally edited and coordinated the media played throughout the events celebrating Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, as well as the Coronation of King Charles III in 2023. Later that year, I directed H.E. Alastair Long’s FIRST PUBLIC INTERVIEW following his appointment as Ambassador.
My first independent commission came in December 2024, covering HRH Prince Edward’s visit for Bahrain National Day. Since then, the collaboration has grown into an ongoing relationship built on mutual trust and shared professional standards, encompassing embassy initiatives, diplomatic events and high-level official visits.
In 2026, I personally filmed H.E. Alastair Long’s FAREWELL MESSAGE to Bahrain for the Embassy’s internal media, and now continue my work with Simon Martin CMG. My first commission under his leadership was to cover the visit of H.E. GEMMA STEVENSON, His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for the Middle East and Pakistan, to Made in GCC and Fintech Forward at Exhibition World Bahrain.
The networking opportunities and VIP access facilitated by the fantastic Embassy teams are privileges I do not take for granted, and that gratitude is reflected in the consistency of my work.
KOREAN EMBASSY
Over two years, I developed, directed and edited two seasons of a cultural mini-documentary series for the Korean Embassy, produced by Bahrain This Month.
The first season, KULTURE, was commissioned by H.E. Chung Hae-kwan and explored Korean culture in Bahrain, covering food, dance, cinema, martial arts and the history of relations between the two countries.
The second season, KOREA TO ME, followed under H.E. HeonSang Koo and shifted the focus towards deeper connections between Korea and Bahrain. Episodes celebrated the WINNER OF A LOCAL K-POP COMPETITION, followed A DAY IN THE LIFE OF THE AMBASSADOR and introduced viewers to HANGUL 101 with the Korean School of Bahrain.
The series featured prominent figures involved in Bahrain’s business and cultural relations with Korea, including Nawaf Al Zayani (Hyundai, Genesis), Ahmed Bin Hindi (Kia, Samsung) and Mohammed Abdul Jabbar Al Kooheji (LG), alongside Bahraini cultural enthusiasts and prominent members of the local Korean community.
GERMAN EMBASSY
In 2022, to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Kingdom of Bahrain, then-Ambassador H.E. Kai Boeckmann commissioned Bahrain This Month to produce a mini-documentary marking the occasion, which I directed and edited.
Featuring interviews with the Ambassador himself, his Bahraini counterpart H.E. Abdulla Abdullatif Al Shaikh Abdulla, and prominent members of the German community in Bahrain, the documentary was screened at the official anniversary celebration at the Diplomat Radisson Blu.
Following the arrival of H.E. Clemens Hach, the collaboration continued with coverage of his first 100 days in office. A personal highlight was filming him watching the 2022 FIFA World Cup match between Germany and Japan alongside then-Japanese Ambassador H.E. Masayuki Miyamoto.
In January 2023, I also covered a padel tournament between the German and French Embassies to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the signing of the Élysée Treaty (video coming soon).
INDIAN EMBASSY
My first major embassy commission came in 2021, when then-Ambassador H.E. Piyush Srivastava wished to commemorate 50 years of diplomatic relations between India and Bahrain.
Under my direction, Bahrain This Month produced a full-scale 30-minute documentary to complement its deluxe commemorative magazine edition, which was created in-house.
The documentary involved extensive international coordination, bringing together interviews with the Ambassador, his Bahraini counterpart H.E. Abdulrahman Al Gaoud and prominent figures in Bahrain’s Indian community, including K.G. Baburajan, Ravi Pillai and members of the Thattai Hindu Merchants Community (THMC). It also featured international stars such as actress Mamta Mohandas and Miss World 1997 Diana Hayden, both of whom have personal ties to Bahrain.
This project truly established my reputation as the go-to for embassy documentaries and laid the foundation for the direction my career would take in Bahrain’s cultural and diplomatic circles.
